Welcome to our Blog

Welcome! We are glad you are here. We are the Fordyce Family. We are now raising our 4th generation on this farm and have so many stories to tell. We hope you’ll join us along our journey. On our blog we will share family history/stories, favorite recipes, gardening tips, tales of farming challenges, and much more. Sometimes we will sign our post by name so you know who has been writing. If you come out to see us on our farm, be sure to say hello. We love to build community and are happy to be a part of yours.

Meet some of the Fordyces…

Raymond Fordyce

Ray has been farming since he was small. He followed in his father Bob’s footsteps and took over operations here at Fordyce Farm in the 90s. Strawberries are one of his favorite crops. He is also a unique fruits enthusiast and our head baker. Ray is the mastermind behind our amazing scones and pies. When not farming, Ray loves to garden - specifically in the English style. He is an expert on summer blooming perennials and if he wasn’t farming, he would probably be designing landscapes.

Graham Fordyce

Graham, like his father Raymond, has been farming since he was a child. From riding along to work in the truck with Ray to now driving tractor with his own three boys, farming has always been a part of his life. As a teen, he began to take on business management roles and grew into the role of business partner with Ray as an adult. He is now a co-owner of the farm. Graham does most of the mechanic work for the farm equipment but dabbles in plenty else. He is responsible for the delicious molasses spice cookies we are famous for and all our delicious ice creams. When he’s not farming, Graham loves spending time with his family and going for hikes in our beautiful PNW.

Christina Fordyce

Christina married Graham in 2018. A longtime gardening enthusiast, she had hoped someday for a hobby farm but got a little more than she bargained for! While mainly taking on the administrative role of the business as co-owner with Graham and Ray, she loves to get out and farm whenever she can. When she’s not at the Salem farm, she’s running our company’s latest business venture out at Queener Farm in Scio. She and Graham raise three boys - the future work crew. In the off hours Christina wrangles chickens and reads books.
