About Us

We began in 1959 when bob fordyce started a small strawberry stand…

Over the years our farm and family have grown. Raymond Fordyce, Bob's son, continued operations in the 90s with his wife Annette and his children. Strawberries have pretty much been his life.

He remembers watching the planting crew when he was four. At age five he started picking to earn money. By age nine he had been put in charge of his dad's u-pick strawberry field. The u-pick operation has continued to grow. In 2005 we added a store; in 2008 a bakery where Raymond could turn his baking hobby into making scones and pie for our customers.

Raymond still owns and operates the farm, now along with his son Graham and daughter-in-law Christina since incorporating the business in 2021. You'll meet many other Fordyce family members during a visit to the farm. We are a diverse farm with u-pick berries, apples, baked goods, pumpkin patch & harvest festival, local produce & gifts, veggie starts, and Christmas trees. We would love to see you during our open season. Come visit us!

In 2023 Raymond, Graham, and Christina became the owners of Queener Farm in Scio. You'll meet Graham and Christina and their three little boys during a visit to the Queener Farm. We have a diverse heritage apple orchard there in Scio that we are proud to say is certified organic. Visit the Queener Farm website for more information about our organic apple farm stand, apple club, apple scionwood, and u-pick apples.

Our Farming Practices

We are a low-spray, low-till operation expanding into other regenerative practices. We incorporate many organic practices into our farming when possible (low tilling, crop covers and rotation, and composting to name a few). We only use sprays when absolutely necessary for our operation and classify ourselves as “low-spray”. Sometimes we source local organic produce to sell in our farm store. We are transparent about answering questions related to our farming practices so if you need any more information about your food, please don’t hesitate to contact us about specifics!

Our apple orchard Queener Farm located in Scio, OR takes a very holistic orchard care approach. Apples from that location are certified organic. Find more information about Queener Farm here
